Hey guys,
I was walking back to the clinic today after lunch when I saw something cross over the sidewalk ahead of me. I went in for a closer look and saw that it was a Black, Fat-tailed Scorpion.

They are pretty big in these parts. This one measured up close to five inches. |

I got this picture of him just as he was getting ready to strike the bottle we had him covered up with earlier. Pretty neat. |

Hey guys,
A few days ago I was down with some friends at the old Iraqi Army landfill on camp. Pretty much were they dumped all of the old Iraqi army junk. While we were looking around, we found four AK-47's, three of which had been pretty much bent up and de-militarized. The forth was fully intact-minus the bolt. It had Chinese and Iraqi markings on it and still had the bayonet attached in the "fixed" position. We left it soaking in some oil and came back today to get pictures with it.

Pretty awesome. After asking the military about how it was still around, we were told that this camp was used to store all of the captured Iraqi insurgent weapons for the Tikrit area in 2003. In 2004 when the 1st Infantry Division left, they laid out the rifles in a line and had a tank roll over them to make them use-less. They were all then piled up and buried. This one somehow survived.

Hey guys,
The military is currently switching out units here at our camp. The replacements started coming in today. We were able to go over and chat with them as well as take a look at their equipment. I attached some pics. Take care!
